Alex Studio · commissioned work

Some questions need more than a tool.

When a board needs numbers it can defend, a system needs its own dashboard, or a community needs the definitive assessment, the Studio builds it, on the same data spine as the rest of Alex, and hands over something finished and citable.

Finished work

Every item is a real deliverable for a real community or client. Where it is public, the link opens the thing itself, not a description of it.

Behavioral Health Needs Assessment 2026

The flagship community assessment for Hamilton County: national to county trends, a full workforce section, every claim cited, built to be the reference other organizations plan against for years. It updates the 2021 assessment and is published in full.

Live dashboard · public

Behavioral Health Action Dashboard

A public-grade dashboard for an entire behavioural-health ecosystem: employer, provider, family and policymaker views on one spine, under crisis-line, non-clinical and zero-retention discipline that this kind of data demands.

Bespoke portal · walkable demo

Employer intelligence portal

One employer's whole labour market on a single secured page: talent availability in their real commute shed, wages, feeder roles, ZIP targeting and a recruiting playbook, refreshed on cadence. The demo runs on a fictional company.

Reference deployment · public

A whole county, on synthetic data

The complete platform standing up for a fictional 75,000-person peer county: site intelligence, impact modelling, tract navigation and reporting. Built so a prospective partner can walk every surface without touching a real community's data.

Modelling engine · in production

Development impact, defensible line by line

Jobs, earnings, output and net fiscal impact for a proposed development, including abatement schedules and the circuit breaker. Every figure reports which multiplier produced it and how precisely it resolved, because a city defends these numbers in a public meeting.

The cost of undermanagement

A county-scale study pricing what weak management costs an economy, written to move a room and built facts-first. Not published on the open web; we send it to people who ask.

Why the numbers hold up

These figures get quoted, so the method is the product. Every Studio deliverable carries the same six rules:

  • Confidence tiers on every figure. The document says where a number is audited fact, where it is modelled, and where it is a conservative estimate.
  • The conservative end of every range. When the research offers a range we take the low end, and say so.
  • The skeptic is answered in advance. We name the methodological objections a critic would raise, inside the document.
  • Reproducible to the source file. Every calculation can be rebuilt from the underlying data. Nothing is a black box.
  • Anchored to real evidence. Peer-reviewed research and government sources, cited to the row, never vendor marketing.
  • Conflicts disclosed in writing, and unfavourable findings reported at the same volume as favourable ones.

How an engagement works

  1. A conversation, not a form. Tell us the question and the audience it has to convince. We will say honestly whether the Studio is the right tool.
  2. A scope memo with a fixed price. What we build, what we need from you, what it costs, when it lands. No meters running.
  3. Delivery, and the room. The finished product, the workings behind it, and the presentation to the audience that matters, if you want it.

Bring us the question.

Hamilton County organizations are scoped first and priced lowest. Engagements outside the county are welcome as capacity allows.
